Carnival Cruise

So we have been back from our vacation for a couple days now. Boo! It was a great cruise and the weather was perfect everyday. Go figure it is the bahamas! Monday we had to wake up very early. We left the house around 3:30 am very tired but excited and drove to Indy. We left on time and got to Fort Lauderdale around 12 and headed to Miami to get on our cruise ship. Fort Lauderdale was a little cheaper to fly into and is only 30 minutes away from Miami. I didn't even know it was that close until I booked the cruise. Always looking for those great deals! I have never been next to a cruise ship but it was HUGE! They said the ship can hold 3,000 people. It was so neat being out in the ocean just cruising along. The first place we stoped at was Nassau, Bahamas. They had a lot of shops but not much of a beach so we decided to take a 10 minute ride to Paradise Island. And let me tell you those drivers are crazy. Always honking there horns and squezzing in and out of places. Once we got to Paradise Island it was beautiful. I know most people have heard of this island because that is where Atlantis is. I have always wanted to go to Atlantis and that is another reason why we went to the island. Atlantis was sooo big! It was very pretty and seemed like we were walking for a long time just around the hotel. The beach there was beautiful and the water was so calm. Before we left Jarod wanted to play just one slot machine before we left to say he played at their casino. I am not much of a gambler but I didn't care. Well, we were in the casino for about 5 minutes and he won $50!! Not bad. He cashed out his ticket and we were outta there. haha.

The second place we stopped at was Hald Moon Cay. It was Carnival's private island and this was my favorite place we stopped at. This place was amazing!! This place has the prettiest water and sand I have ever seen. Right when we got on the island we walked along the beach and on some trails for almost three hours. All we did on the island was walk around, lay out and eat. The cruise ship even had a cookout and it hit the spot that day. One thing I thought was funny were the chickens walking around the picnic tables while we ate. It was fun though. We did not want to leave:(

The last place we stopped at was Grand Caymen. We didn't go into the city on this island but just hung out at Margarittaville and walked along the beach. Margarittaville was busy and did get a little crazy after people started to drink a little or may I say a lot. lol. After a while we decided to walk on the beach side that no one was really at and I am so glad we did. They had a ton of conch shells laying on the beach. I couldn't believe it! We made two of those conch shells our souvenir. Those are the best kinds...the ones you get to find yourself!

I just kinda summed up what we did on each island. If I talked about everything I would be on here for way to long! We did have a great time and only two times we felt a little sea sick. The boat was rocking big time though. That was only for about two hours each time and it wasn't that bad. The oil I used helped some and would recommend it. I got it at Wal-mart if anyone was interested. One night I did try one of the sea sick pills and it made me tired. I slept for 11 hours that night. I couldn't believe it! I was like there is no way, but we were staying in one the of the inside rooms and didn't get sunlight. I couldn't tell much difference from the pills and the oil. We ate a lot of food even though I didn't care much for the food except supper time. That food was always good! The waiters we had were great and got to know them a little since we had the same waiters every night. We also were assigned the same couple to eat with every night. It was a surprise but it was fun getting to know them also. They were about the same age as us from California (Orange County)...probably one of the most poplular places you hear about. We also loved seeing our Housekeeper (Inna) atleat twice a day. She was so sweet! I don't think one person that worked on the ship was from the U.S. So it was neat seeing people from all around the world. They were all very hard workers and had to stay on the ship for 6 months and then got a two month break. It would be very hard for me to do that and be away from my family.

It was a great vacation and hope you enjoy the pictures I posted! If you have any questions about cruising just ask. Take care!

So glad you had a great time! The cruise that I went on went to Grand Cayman too! We went on a tour of a Rum factory-you know that means trouble! Glad you didn't get too sick! These pictures make me want to go again-hopefully I can get the hubby to take me!
