Ready for the Holidays

So, today I am off work (woohoo) and thought no better time to catch up on my blog. We havent't been too busy this past week....but it seems to get like that right before the holidays. I don't mind it! This past weekend Jarod and I were home most of the weekend and I loved lounging around the house! Saturday night some of my friends and I from high school and college got together. This is so hard to do since everyone has such different schedules, but we seemed to get most of us together. We ate pizza (yum), looked at old pictures, played cards and of course talked. It was so funny looking back at pictures from the years past but sad at the same time. I have had so many great memories with those girls and love them to death! But now since we are growing up, working, some having kids we aren't able to get together as much. The times we are together I cherish and enjoy being with them. Most of us live away from one another and it is hard at times knowing that. Maybe one day down the road some will move back:) I do have some pictures that we took....and they all look gorgeous!

Tomorrow my parents are coming over to help me put up Christmas stuff. YAY! I love putting the Christmas tree and decorations up. I have always put them up the day after Thanksgiving but since I have to work Fri-Sun I won't be able to. I was going to have friday off but someone switched days with me at work, so I now have Thanksgiving off (not complaining). So...I decided to do it the day before then. I atleast want to have the tree up for a month. When I was younger me and my family would always do these things together so I thought I would have my mom and dad help me! Jarod doesn't really care to put up the tree. I do have him help me put up the lights outside. However, when we do try to start our family I will want him to help put the tree up too...but he is off the hook right now. lol. I will have to post pics of the tree when I have some. Until next time....I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and eat lots of Turkey!

Follow the Bourbon Trail

Fall is almost behind us now and winter is slowly approaching. Lukily Jarod and I were able to go on part of the Bourbon Trail this past weekend. For some of you who may not know what the Bourbon Trail is. It consists of nine bourbon companys in northern kentucky that you can visit and take tours of. I didn't know what to expect at first becuase I have only heard of it but did not know much about it. Just the basics. Well, I was so glad we went and I had such a great time. We only made it to three but that is because you spend an hour to hour and half at each one. And pretty much all of them close around 3. We went to Jim Beam, Heaven Hill and my favorite Makers Mark. They were interesting to go to because they were all the same but different in their own way. The tours guides were great and we learned a lot. All of them are FREE which is a plus and you get free chocolate!! What else can you ask for.haha. Chocolate alone is good for me....but I love chocolate:) It was the perfect weather when we went and I got some good pictures especially at Makers Mark because it was soo pretty. I love spending time with Jarod and this was a day where it was just us and we had such a great time together. It was my idea to go on the Bourbon Trail but I love, love, love to see new places. I would like to make it a hobby but it would cost just a little too much for me. I am just happy and feel blessed that I have been able to go the places I have been. Besides our little one day road trip we went to Dru's birthday party. I just can't believe he is 3!! He had a ton of fun and the jumpy thing was great. It was so cute when he got his NEW bike as a gift...in no time he jumped right on it and took off like a pro. Just shows how big he is getting and growing up too fast. Other than that I have been working and Jarod has been getting pumped for gun season to open on saturday. I work this weekend so I know what he is going to be doing. Hunting! I just hope he can get a big buck, even though I hate to see the poor deer dead. Well, here are some pics and hope you enjoy them!

Hall-o-ween

This past week we had a blast with all of the halloween things that go on. Friday we went trick or treating with Jarod's little brothers (Ashton and Aiden) and their second cousin Olivia just in our neighborhood. We didn't see as many trick or treaters as I thought but it was still fun seeing all the kids dressed up. I always did love trick or treating and dressing up when I was younger, well I still kinda like dressing up! When I was younger we lived in a subdivision and would get TONS of candy and their were kids everywhere you turned. Oh how it is different when you live in a small town. I only got one picture of the kids. They were so cute! Saturday I had to work but asked another nurse if she could work my 3-7 so I could get home a little earlier. But then I got to go home at 11 because of low census! I love it when I get off early on the weekends. I ended up pulling weeds and spraying weeds when I got home though. I didn't care because it was so nice out. That night we went to a halloween party and Jarod's outfit I could not stop cracking up at. Don't worry I got pictures! Jarod showing off his moves and me showing off my tail.
Brothers
Khole had to have an outfit too. Except she didn't want to leave it on the little stinker.

The halloween party was fun and I think it has been since my sophmore year of college since I have dressed up for a halloween party. We got to see people we haven't seen in a while so that was nice. But then today I got the news about our neighbor Jim Miller. I was shocked and all I could think about was what their family is going through right now. I know Jim was a great guy that loved his wife and three girls. All of his girls are still so young and are now going to have to go through such grief of losing their dad and Jamie losing her husband. I know they can pull through, it just takes time and still down the road it is never going to the same. Just keep them in your prayers! I know what they are going through because I lost my sister Lindsey at the age of 14, 4 years ago unexpectedly. I still think about her everyday and wish she was here. My family and I had to go through a lot of changes but we are now closer than we have ever been. It just a matter of minutes how things can change. Until next time take care and enjoy your family time tonight:)
