Busy Weekend

This past weekend was really busy for us. I knew it would be and was looking forward to it. Saturday we went to my g-ma's for lunch. My uncle (my dad's brother) and his whole family couldn't make....they make up probably half of my dad's side since their family is so big. So it was just my aunt (my dad's sister) and her family, my mom and dad and Jarod and I at g-ma's. We had fun, ate good food and talked. My g-ma is always saying her food isn't as good as it was....I tell her she is crazy. I think it is a g-ma thing! After we were there a couple hours we had to head home and stop at wal-mart so we could get ready for our friends coming over that night. We had soo much fun!!! I was glad we could all get together again and I knew it would work best since some were coming home for easter weekend. I love hanging out with all of them and I posted some pictures we took. We always have to break out the camera when we are together! Love you girls!

Cute couple
We always have to get a silly photo

Sunday we went to sunrise service. It was a little cold out but it was worth it. After the service we had a really good breakfast.....especially the cinnamon rolls. I loved them! If anyone know's who made them I would love to get the recipe. We then headed to my aunt's house for the Schroering easter. My moms sister's take turns having the family over for holidays since my grandparents haved passed away. It has worked great the past couple of years now. This side of the family is pretty big and only one of my cousins has kids. I can only imagine what it will be like in a couple more years since most are married now. We had a lot of fun here too. We ate (of course), had a easter egg hunt for the kids and played cards. Believe it or not I did good playing cards. After winning I said, okay guys I gotta go. Took the money and ran. haha. Not really. I did win a little money....not a lot since it was a quarter each game. Probably three dollars. I can remember even when I was little my family playing cards and it usually had money involved. My family is from Jasper and I think that has a lot to do with it....they love playing cards!
After we left we headed to another easter gathering. This time we went to Jarod's side. It was at his aunt's and by the time we got there some people had left. We didn't stay long because we were tired but we got to talk for a little bit. It was also his g-ma Graber's birthday. I felt sorry for her since she was kind of sick:( When we got home Jarod went to bed around 7 becasue he had to do preload at UPS the next day. He had to wake up at 3 AM! He hates working preload because he has to wake up so early...I wouldn't like that either. Sometimes he has too. Just glad it isn't very often. I think I went to bed at 9. Early for me but we were both exhausted. We only got around 5 hours sleep saturday night because we went to bed late and woke up early. Overall it was a great weekend!! Hope everyone is having a good week.

About our vacation

I know we have been home for a little over a week now since our vacation. But I wanted to let you know how it went. We left sunday evening after I got off work and got to Orlando around ten o'clock monday. The room wasn't going to be ready until three so we layed out at the pool most of our wait. Which this is the day we got a little burnt. Imagine that the first day in Florida! haha. We thought we could get our room a little early...but didn't:( We were tired so we cleaned up, ate at bubba gumps ( they had awesome fish and chips), walked around downtown Universal, and then went to bed. Tuesday we went to Discovery Cove. I think this is one of the neatest places I have ever been. It was sooo relaxing!! We got to swim with sting rays, snorkel with all kinds of fish, hold and feed birds, eat, and be with the DOLPHINS! I could go there almost everyday. Wednesday we stayed at the hotel pool, went to downtown Disney (woo hoo Disney...we love that place), and ate at Ohana. Ohana is in the disney polynesian resort. I think that is one of our favorite resorts....we love the tropical feel! Ohana had GREAT food and such a fun atmosphere. I had tried to make reservations and at the last minute got us in. I am so glad we were able to get in and the best thing is that after we ate the fireworks went off. We had a perfect view from our table. Ahhh! We were soo full when we left we went to bed when we got back. lol. Thursday we went to Sea World and were only there half the day. We weren't too impressed with Sea World...maybe it just wasn't our thing. Then off to St. Augustine we went. It was a cute little old town. I mean Old because it is the oldest town in the US. We ate at a place on the beach that night and the next day we walked around for a couple hours. After that it was homeward bound:( I wasn't looking forward to going back. I am always like that. Jarod on the other hand doesn't mind it. Overall, it was a great trip that went too fast. They always go too fast though!!

Since we have been back we have been enjoying this great spring weather. Already spraying the weeds and yes Jarod mowed the grass today...already! One day I did add a couple things to our ferns at the front door. I wanted it too look springy! I love doing things like this. I posted some pics for you too see. Not a whole lot....just cut and added some flowers, painted some eggs, and added some rafia. Hope everyone is enjoying this weather!!!

Kirra's 1st Birthday!

This past weekend my best friend had a birthday party for her little girl Kirra. I can't believe she is ONE now and walking!! There were a lot of little kids running around and some family and friends we haven't talked to in a little while. When it came to cake time Kirra did NOT like her cake. I was kinda bummed because I always like it when kids get to dig into their first birthday cake. I think she stuck her finger in the cake once and then wanted out, but she was kinda tired too. So, I don't blame her. I got some pics you can check out!
This week so far I have been working and man am I gald to be off today. I am exhausted from these past two 12 hour shifts. It was a mad house. I hope this weekend is much better. If not I have a week off after this weekend. We are going to Orlando and I am so EXCITED!! It seems like it is taking forever for our vacation week to get here though. Today I am wrapping up on vacation stuff, getting everything ready and making a list of things not to forget. I have been checking the weather and it looks like it is going to be in the mid 70's-80's. Hopefully no rain!! Until next time take care and all of you other bloggers going on vacation I hope you have fun wherever you are going! I will have pics. up when we get back:)
Kirra does not like this birthday business.

Family Pic.

Didn't do too much damage to the cake!

Valentines

I just wanted to post a little about Valentine's Day.....I know a little late posting since Valentine's was a little over a week ago. Jarod usually isn't into Valentine's Day and doesn't like it when this day roles around! Go figure I think most guys are like that. On the other hand I like all holidays...even though I don't consider Valentines a holiday. I just like the thought of getting something a little special one extra day out of the year. We had a wonderful day that day. Jarod didn't get me flowers or candy but did get me some new nike pants. I love them!! I got Jarod I love you cookies and a flask. I don't know if he will use it a whole lot, but he has always wanted one. I even had them engrave J-Rod on it. If you don't know a lot of people call him J-Rod.....especially ALL the neighbor kids! haha. I think they think it is funny. We did spend most of the morning around the house and then headed to E-Ville.

We stopped at PetsMart since the humane society is always their on saturdays. I fell in love with this one dog that was part pitbull and part weimeriner. She was the one of the prettiest dogs I have seen and so loving. If only she was smaller. After that we stopped at the hospital to see my dad and give my mom and g-ma some yummy chocolate. And my dad finally got to come home last monday!! He still has to work some things out with his surgery he had this past January....this has been such a long process. But atleast his infection is GONE. We had plans to eat out and decided to eat at Akropolis (if that is how you spell it). We have never ate their and thought we would try it out. It was a really pretty restaurant but I don't think we will eat their again. Jarod hated his food and mine was okay. I just think we don't like Greek food. Most people have said they liked it....it's not our thing! We went home after eating and just enjoyed the night together and finally got to watch Fire Proof. I have heard people talk about this movie for a long time. Just like everyone else I thought the movie was really good! I loved the part in the end where they meet up in the firestation.....it made me cry. And I usually don't cry in movies. Overall a perfect day!! Enjoy the pictures.
Is this really what I have to eat?

Ready to dig in!

I love you cookies! Jarod took a bite out of his.

In loving Memory of Andon Knepp

Today I wanted to dedicate this post to Andon Joseph Richard Knepp! I wanted to do this for my blogger friend Chelsa and her family in memory of this little angel. I think the Owens Family (Courtney) had an awesome idea about having family, friends and people near and far dedicate a post to this litle angel. We all know he is dearly missed and loved so much!! My heart is still going out to Chelsa, Ryan and Brycen and hoping they cope day by day. I know Chelsa is such a strong girl with an amazing heart. I did not make anything for Andon like some bloggers have but I am putting a picture up that Chelsa had commented on in the past. Previously I had taken this picture because it reminded me of my little sister looking down on me and my family one day when we were taking pictures on a beautiful fall day. But today I thought I would post it because it reminds me of Andon and all the other angels shining down on ALL of us. I just love this picture!! I hope you do to.

I also have a poem I found for you Chelsa:)

Tiny Footprints on a Mother's Heart

When a baby arrives, be it for a day, a month, a year or more, or perhaps only a sweet flickering moment-the fragile spark of a tender soul, the secret swell of a new pregnancy. the goldfish flutter known to only you-you are unmistakeningly changed...the tiny footprints left behind on your heart bespeak your name as Mother.
